As we approach the end of 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had together as members of the PRSA Las Vegas Valley chapter. This year has been a testament to the strength, creativity, and dedication of our public relations community.

In total, we held 10 events attended by a combined 407 members and future members, as well as showcasing the vibrancy and dedication of our chapter and the value of coming together to learn, share, and grow as professionals.

We kicked off the year by celebrating the best of the best in public relations programs, tactics and practitioners with our annual Pinncle Awards reception. At 97 entries, with 77% winning Pinnacles, despite a rigorous review process, and 140 attendees, it was one of our most competitive competitions yet, culminating in an unforgettable evening of winning.

February held a thought-provoking discussion on AI and the Future of Public Relations at The Orleans Hotel & Casino with Dr. Aya Shata, setting the tone for a year of insightful events. In March, our Pinnacle Awards Debrief gave members valuable insights into creating award-winning entries during a virtual session that highlighted some of the Las Vegas industry’s best work.

In April, we shifted focus to one of the year’s most anticipated and historic events for Las Vegas, Super Bowl LVIII, with Richelle Rice, Vice President of Social & Digital Marketing for the Las Vegas Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee, who shared her expertise during a luncheon at Ferraro's Ristorante. Following this, our May Mixer at Bailiwick at The Orleans Hotel & Casino brought our community together for a night of connection and fun.

As summer approached, we explored Las Vegas’ role as the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World, hearing from Lisa Motley, Vice President of Sports and Special Events for the LVCVA. In August, we hosted two standout events: a virtual panel discussion featuring Travel Nevada and City Lifestyle Magazines, focusing on Nevada’s unique appeal, and the PRSA Las Vegas Summer Soiree at Juliet Cocktail Room at The Venetian.

In the fall, we tackled some of the industry’s most pressing issues. In September, we examined Tackling Misinformation: The Role of Public Relations Practitioners in Serving the Public Interest with a full panel of various industry experts, and in October, we learned how to Turn Nightmares into Navigable Moments during a crisis communications workshop with Rina Foster, APR—both held at Ferraro's Ristorante.

Thanks to your participation and passion, we’ve elevated our chapter’s presence and influence in the Las Vegas Valley.

Looking ahead to 2025, our Golden 50th Anniversary, we are excited to build on this momentum with even more opportunities to inspire, collaborate, and achieve.

We can’t wait to celebrate this year’s successes with each of you at the upcoming 28th annual Pinnacle Awards ceremony on January 23 at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. You can purchase your tickets here. We hope to see you there!

Here’s to a bright future and continued success in 2025!
