Local Public Relations Professional Wins 2021 Platinum Service Award

LAS VEGAS – Rina Foster, APR, CEO and founder of 84 Communications, was announced the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Western District Platinum Service Award winner at this year’s Western District Conference held in Las Vegas.
Foster was nominated by numerous colleagues and was selected out of a group of nominees from all 11 Western District PRSA chapters. The award showcases someone who possess a strong sense of leadership, expertise in PR strategies and dedication in moving our industry forward.
“Rina’s dedication to the profession of public relations can be seen throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Her expertise as a counselor, practitioner, and leader provide a role model for others to aspire to,” said Amy Bouchard, APR, president of PRSA Las Vegas Valley.
In addition to managing her own PR firm, Foster dedicates a large portion of her time to volunteering and leading the local PRSA chapter as conference chair. She recently planned and executed a successful three-day conference that hosted over 80 industry professionals from across the western United States. After facing various obstacles and challenges due to COVID-19, she remained a powerful voice of determination and motivation for her team and was triumphant.
Foster currently mentors several practitioners through PRSA’s national Mentor Connect program and teaches Introduction to Public Relations at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as an adjunct professor. She also volunteered her time and talents to nurture the next generation of the public relations community by serving as the PRSSA-UNLV chapter advisor for several years.
Named PR Practitioner of the Year during the 2018 PRSA Las Vegas Valley Chapter Pinnacle Awards, Foster has won an array of awards throughout her 16-year career in public relations. Her team has received recognition not only from the PRSA Las Vegas chapter, but the PRSA Central Iowa Chapter as well. Foster’s accomplishments and passion for PR led her to earning her Accreditation in Publications in 2020.
