Public relations professionals interested in earning their Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) are invited to attend a Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Jump Start Information Session via Zoom.
The session provides an overview of the purpose and process to earn the only formally recognized accreditation for public relations professionals. Please RSVP to [email protected] to receive an invitation.
Since establishing the Las Vegas APR Ready to Roll program in 2020, 11 area PR pros have earned this designation and another four are currently studying for it. “APR is an important achievement of mastering the essential and successful science of stakeholder relations where communications and public relations professionals commit to a rigor of strategic communications practice, ethics and a commitment to lifelong learning and growth,” said Clark P. Dumont, APR, Fellow PRSA and President of the Las Vegas Valley chapter. “With a journalism background, APR provided me with the knowledge, tools and confidence to strategically lead the communications function.”
Added President-Elect Dawn Merritt, APR, “As a former journalist, I found the APR process to be very valuable in grounding myself in public relations and would encourage all professionals to consider applying as well.
Prior to the Jump Start, public relations professionals are encouraged to have one or two PR campaign in mind to showcase for their panel review, and thoroughly review the APR section of the PRSA website to learn more the process and review multiple resources: https://www.prsa.org/professional-development/accreditation-in-public-relations-(apr))
