A twist to the old "speed-dating" concept - speed pitch the media and see if your story idea is chosen for a "date".

The August luncheon is typically a media round-table, but this year has a little spin on it.  Instead of speed-dating, we will have media speed-pitching.  There will be media (writers, editors, producers) at small tables in the front of the room.  Each pitch will be timed -- a maximum of  3 minutes....maybe just 2 minutes....so make every word count.

PRSA members will get first choice of  two (2) members of the media to pitch.  Non-members will be limited to one (1) member of the media.  

The media representatives will listen to the pitches while enjoying their lunch.  They will be able to take notes, take the materials the PR professional provides, and at the end, each media member will choose one "date",  i.e. who did the best pitch and who they want to talk to more about their story idea. 

We are finalizing all of the media representatives this week and will update soon with the full list and bios. Until we have all the names, here is a little teaser of who could be your potential "media date:

• Travel writer/contributing editor
• Business/gaming reporter & columnist
• Entertainment columnist
• Morning TV News booker
• Food reviewer/critic
• Health writer

NOTE:  There may be limits on accomodating every registration due to time constraints so determinations will be made based on membership first and then date of registration.  Every effort will be made to allow everyone to pitch at least one media representative.
